The Main Event: The Turkey!
Confession time: I’ve never actually done a turkey. Two years ago, my parents came over, and my mom handled it like a pro. I remember herbs, butter, and stuffing all kinds of things inside the turkey, but the specifics? Let’s just say I was busy "supervising."

The Sides: What Everyone Really Comes For!
Green Bean Casserole
This is my brother's absolute fav! I am pretty sure he still has my mom make it every year -- and he's almost 40. He likes it the most unhealthy way a la French's classic recipe: beans out of the can, French's onions, and the cream of mushroom soup. But feel to go full gourmond and do Bon Appetit's Best Green Bean Casserole version. The internet is full of alt-versions to fit your taste.
Sweet Potato Casserole
Okay, I found this recipe several years ago and I will never do a different sweet potato dish at Thanksgiving ever again. It is my all-time favorite dish I could live on just this. It's Half Baked Harvest's Bourbon Sweet Potato Casserole with Sweet & Savory Bacon Pecans.
This one takes some effort so give yourself time the morning of Thanksgiving to prep and get this one in the oven. Note: Do not skip any steps; make this entire thing the way she has it and you will be so obsessed.
Mac 'n Cheese
If you're looking to do homemade mac and cheese, I love Chrissy Teigen's recipe because it packs a punch! It's cheesy and spicy and... so good.
While I'm loving my Teigan recipe, rumors are that Tini Younger also makes a pretty fire mac 'n cheese - the one going viral on TikTok, so try both and you tell me which is better!
(but honestly, the Chrissy Teigen recipe is so good!)
Brussel Sprouts/Greens/Side Salads
I am not going to act like an expert in this field, but I am going to tell you that this is a hot section on Thanksgiving. Now I will not dive into these sides on the big day, but lots of people will, so don't miss the opportunity to please everyone by skimping this from the menu.
Desserts
Banana Pudding
My husband's grandpa made THE best banana pudding from scratch. We have remnants of such recipe, but honestly, it's a "taste and see" if we got it right every time we make it. (Because grandma's never seem to divulge that full-out ingredient list -- it's "gradma's secret recipe for a reason!)
For a reliable (and delicious) version, here's a banana pudding recipe that at least has a full ingredient list and is pretty close to the real deal!
Vanilla Chai Pumpkin Cupcakes
These are truly decadent! Make them the night before because they're a project but they're so tasty they're worth it! Half Baked Harvest knocks it out of the park again. Did we mention th cinnamon brown sugar frosting!?
Festive Drinks
I recently indulged in a whiskey apple cider homemade with Beyonce's SirDavis whiskey brand. It felt so festive! Because I just made up my recipe (like I do..), here are 28 official concoctions including thsi Cinnamon Apple Burbon Smash to impress your guests! Think chai espresso martinis, ginger apple moscow mules, and other cozy concoctions.
